WHAT:

Warehouse Fire

WHEN:

November 24, 2018 at 1:16 p.m.

WHERE:

4846 Cranswick Rd, 77041

INJURIES:

No reported injuries.

PROPERTY SAVED:

$740 thousand in estimated property saved.

DAMAGE:

$10 thousand in estimated damage.

CAUSE:

The cause was ruled as accidental by HFD Arson investigators.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:

Firefighters arrived on scene with smoke coming from a large one-story warehouse. Crews made entry and knocked down the fire holding all companies. Crews checked for extension inside and outside the warehouse which contained pallets, tires and large trash cans. There were no known hazardous materials.The business shredded paper and after employees returned from lunch, the machinery would not power up. HFD Arson investigators were requested to determine the cause and origin. Crews from Stations 77, 50, 4, 5, 38, 66, 78 and 57 responded to this incident.
