DATE: May 5, 2016 3:13:28 PM CDT

What: 4-Alarm warehouse fire in northwest Houston.
When:

 May 5, 2016 at 9:45 a.m.

Under control at 1:58 p.m.

Where: 1700 Laverne St. 77080 – Warehiouse fire
Injuries: No reported injuries
Damage: Significant damage to several structures including one home.
Cause: Houston Arson Bureau investigating
Details:

Shelter-In-Place Order has been lifted.

The Houston Fire Department has declared the incident under control. Although the fire threat is over, the HFD would like to advise all citizens to avoid water run-off to nearby areas. The area of Spring Branch Creek and surrounding ditches and culverts should be avoided until authorities complete testing and deem them safe.  Diking and boom operations are  currently underway along with enviromental contractors on sight performing  enviromental  cleanup. Although, recent rainfall and flooding is assisting with dilution, citizens should avoid those water run-off areas until further notice.
