House Fire in The South Park Area

Firefighters arrived on scene to find fire and heavy smoke coming from a one story home and began an offensive attack. Upon entering the home, they encountered heavy smoke, heat and fire throughout the immediate area. The crews worked to control the fire and looked for potential victims. After a few minutes, progress was made and the fire was contained and controlled. Crews also ventilated the roof and worked to protect the nearby exposures.
The occupant said she was cooking and forgot to turn the stove off when she noticed smoke and fire coming from the kitchen. The family safely escaped the home and the American Red Cross was contacted to assist them.
Houston firefighters canvassed the neighborhood with fire prevention literature and recovery information on Monday, December 2, 2019.
