** City of Houston ———————————————————— ———————————————————— HOUSTON FIRE DEPARTMENT Incident Update FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE Date: 06/01/2020 View this email in your browser ( House Fire in The Sharpstown Area WHAT: House Fire WHEN: May 26, 2020 at 3:35 p.m. WHERE: 8900 block of Brae Acres, 77074 INJURIES: No reported injuries PROPERTY SAVED: $517 thousand in estimated property saved. DAMAGE: $7,500 in estimated damage. CAUSE: The cause was ruled accidental by HFD Arson investigators. ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: Firefighters arrived on scene to find smoke coming from the ridge line of a 1-story home and began an attack on the fire. F The fire was found on the patio outside the back door and the overhang connecting the garage to the home. It was also spreading into the attic. A primary search was completed and the power and gas companies were requested. The fire was extinguished and HFD Arson investigators were requested to determine the cause of the fire. A resident stated that they had been cooking on a gas stove on the patio, went into the house, and when they returned, the porch was on fire. Firefighters from Stations 28, 68, 15, 51, 73, 57 and 82 responded to this incident.
