** City of Houston ———————————————————— ———————————————————— HOUSTON FIRE DEPARTMENT Incident Update FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE Date: 06/02/2020 View this email in your browser (mailchi.mp/houstontx/house-fire-in-the-brays-oaks-area-vwz3e9t7fl?e=837d2e2090) House Fire in The Brays Oaks Area WHAT: House Fire WHEN: May 27, 2020 at 4:59 p.m. WHERE: 10900 block of Gatlinburg Dr, 77031 INJURIES: No reported injuries PROPERTY SAVED: $215 thousand in estimated property saved. DAMAGE: $35 thousand in estimated damage. CAUSE: Failure of equipment or heat source ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: Firefighters arrived on scene to find smoke coming from the roof of a home and began an offensive attack. They conducted a primary search and ventilated the roof. The fire was controlled and crews conducted salvage operations. It appeared the fire started from a lightning strike and was contained to the attic space. Firefighters from Stations 68, 82, 73 and 59 responded to this incident.
