PROPERTY SAVED: $130 thousand in estimated property saved. DAMAGE: $10 thousand in estimated damage. CAUSE: Unintentional ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: Firefighters arrived on scene within seven minutes of being dispatched to find light smoke coming from a single story home. They found the homeowner attempting to extinguish a kitchen fire with a garden hose. The crews finished extinguishing the fire and conducted salvage and overhaul. All of the burned areas were exposed and wet down. Firefighters pulled the cabinets and sheet-rock from the ceiling and walls to ensure there were no hot spots. The home owner said she came home to find her kitchen on fire, called for help and attempted to extinguish the fire. She had electrical issues with breakers that kept popping powering the kitchen. Several wires were found burnt in different locations in the kitchen which powered lights with burn marks. Burned wires were also found in the wall behind the oven. The owner was advised to leave the power off until an electrician inspected the home. Firefighters from Station 67 responded to this incident.
