** City of Houston ———————————————————— ———————————————————— HOUSTON FIRE DEPARTMENT Incident Update FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE Date: 06/01/2020 View this email in your browser (mailchi.mp/houstontx/apartment-fire-in-the-westwood-area-xp9pain917?e=837d2e2090) Apartment Fire in The Westwood Area WHAT: Apartment Fire WHEN: May 21, 2020 at 8:12 p.m. WHERE: 9803 Club Creek, 77036 INJURIES: No reported injuries PROPERTY SAVED: $170 thousand in estimated property saved. DAMAGE: $35 thousand in estimated damage. CAUSE: The cause was ruled as incendiary by HFD Arson investigators. ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: Firefighters arrived on scene to find smoke coming from a 2-story apartment building. Crews worked to extinguish the fire and conducted primary searches of the unit and adjacent unit. The unit involved was unoccupied and HFD Arson investigators were requested to determine the cause and origin of the fire. The power company also disconnected the power to all four units of the involved building. Firefighters from Stations 68, 2, 83, 82, 73, 10, 51 and 57 responded to this incident.
