Investigation into Fatal Shooting at 801 Telephone Road
Houston police are investigating the fatal shooting of a man at 801 Telephone Road that occurred about 3:50 p.m. on Thursday (March 18).
The identity of the victim, 29, is pending notification to family members by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.
HPD Homicide Division Sergeant W. Dunn and Detectives R. Naughton and L. Palma reported:
The victim and a witness were involved in minor crash with a blue Pontiac Trans Am driven by an unknown male suspect. Both the victim and the suspect pulled into a restaurant parking lot at the above address and were waiting for the male to have money brought to the location to pay for damages to the victim’s white Chevrolet Silverado pickup truck. Approximately 10 minutes later, several additional suspects in a light blue Chevrolet Silverado arrived in the parking lot. The suspects then robbed the victim of his vehicle and all suspects fled the scene.
The victim and witness then went to a parking lot next to the above address and attempted to confront one of the suspects as he fled the scene in the white Chevrolet Silverado. The suspect shot the victim from inside the truck and then fled.
The victim and witness then ran back to the restaurant at the original address. The victim was then transported to an area hospital where he was pronounced deceased. The unknown suspects are described only as multiple Hispanic males.
